hi ..guys why we dont use CROND ..in dreambox?
--
example on Gemini Images

edit like this

CROND_ON=1

then

make folders in var/etc/

named cron,and inside 1 more named crontabs

it have to look like this
/var/etc/cron/crontabs/

put file named "root" whit this

# +---------------- minute (0 - 59)
# | +------------- hour (0 - 23)
# | | +---------- day of month (1 - 31)
# | | | +------- month (1 - 12)
# | | | | +---- day of week (0 - 7) (Sunday=0 or 7)
# | | | | |
# * * * * * command to be executed
# ------------------------------------------------------------------
* 4 * * * reboot > /dev/null 2>&1 &

I just did this setup and worked fine. Is there any method how can the dreambox stay in standby mode after restart?

I think that box can't do that suddenly. But, on this way, maybe its possible: box sitched on --> reboot (with script) --> box is again on --> goto standby (with script)

Hello people :)
It's been a long time ago since my very last post here.
I would like to ask you about DM500s.
People posted many ways of doing this simple procedure...

1.Restart DreamBox 500s at 04.00 am for example
2.Put it in sleep mode

and here comes my question.
Which of all the above methods-scripts should i use if i want to achieve that 2 steps?

for the sleep mode, can we do that :

#REBOOT AT 4
* 4 * * * reboot > /dev/null 2>&1 &

#SLEEP AT 5
* 5 * * * sleep > /dev/null 2>&1 &

this can work ??
