auto SLEEP with crontab - 17-December-2009, 15:07

ey guys,

i did my dreambox reboot, but then i want to get it to sleep with crontab not with the timer.

like

00 04 * * * reboot
05 04 * * * sleep ?

i tried--> 00 05 * * * halt

but then the whole dreambox doesnt do a tiny thing, i need to plug the AC cable out and in and then it works.

so does anyone know the command for to sleep?

Create a new .sh file with this line, just edit password (dreambox) and put it in usr script and chmod 755.

wget http://root:[email protected]/cgi-b...ommand=standby

Regards

The system is auto editing the line, put this part on the dots
in/admin?c

Hi Guys,

I am looking for a script that I can run in crontab that will put my box in standby, I have tried a few but none seem to work, I am using a dreambox 500 with gemini image. I have already tried :

12 23 * * * /bin/wget -O /tmp/wgettmp http://127.0.0.1/cgi-bin/admin?command=standby

and also

#!/bin/sh
#####################################
# #
# Standby by Crontab #
# for Gemini-Image #
# tested on 7020 #
#####################################

DREAMBOXIP="http://root:[email protected]"

RECORDINGSTATUS=`wget -O- -q $DREAMBOXIP/cgi-bin/status | grep "Recording:" | sed 's/.*<td>\(.*\)<\/td.*/\1/' | sed 's/ON/On/g' | sed 's/OFF/Off/g'`

echo 'REC? ' $RECORDINGSTATUS

if [ $RECORDINGSTATUS = "Off" ]
then

if [ `grep encoder /proc/stb/avs/0/input | wc -l` -eq 1 ]; then
echo 'Switch to Standby'
wget -O /var/tmp/commands.tmp -q http://root:[email protected]/cgi-b...ommand=standby
fi

fi

but none of them do anything.

Can anyone give me a script that I can place in var/script that i can run as a cron task that will put my box into standby.

Many thanks for your help.

silky.

This is an Enigma1 script that will work for sure, if you want another command, just write "wakeup" or "shutdown", or "reboot" after =

wget -q -O /dev/null http:// root:[email protected]/cgi-bin/admin?command=wakeup

P.S. remove space before root
