Peer Status of Gbox is RED (offline) - 10-October-2007, 17:29

Hello guys, I have a Gbox 2.19 on DM 7020. The problem is that the Peer Status of Gbox is always red, which means offline. The problem started when I replaced my old Speed Toouch 510 to Speed touch 585. ST 510 is not working so I cannot return it back.

The connection between my PC and DM 7020 is fine.
The connection of DM 7020 to the internet seems fine as monitoered by ST 585.
Now, the question: why is the status of the Gbox is red? Can I do anything. By the way I have No IP DUC v2.21 as well related to Gbox.
Thank You in advance for any hints or help
Cheers

Thanx both for the reply, but how to make sure all ports are open. For now, i can access the DreamBOX 7020 from my PC via the ST 585. Also, Gbox peers seems can not connect the internet. I disabled the firewalll via telnet and did port forwarding , as per my understanding; and yet nothing comes GOOD. For information, the said Gbox used to be working fine on my previous router ST510. Now, the question, how to make sure all ports of ST 585 are open? not by eyesight;)

Port forwarding - 11-October-2007, 16:48

Hi Just picked up on your question. First are you using Dyndns.??? in your router? There is a cute little download called dyndns updater. Just do a google for this.

Make sure that you have included your port address in the virtual server part of the router this is usually like...

ID Service port Service IP Enabled
1 your selected dhcp assigned make sure this is
port in cwshare port to your ticked
like 4545 dreambox
like 192.168.2.123

If you have these working then you should be able to see your peers on line make sure that if you have reinstalled G*ox cam you will need to put your cwshare file back into var\keys as the cam will overwrite your cwshare file.

Hope this helps

Regards

Thank you tinker for ur feedback. To answer yoru question, no i am not using Dyndns. I just finished downloading it after reading your post. But i really dont know why i need it.!
The second part of yr reply is not clear to me " Make sure that you have included your port address in the virtual server part of the router" Which por addresst are referring to here? if it is DM 7020 address, the DM7020 IP address ( assigned by dhcp & it's unchecked) is detetcted by the router. Furthermore, see below the communciation information shown in my DM7020:
DM IP ADDRESS IS 192.168.1.65
Nameserver and gateway are the same as router IP address. Although i have read that the nameserver of the dreambox shall be similar to the PC IP address but when i changed the namersever to the PC IP address, i received an error message on DM7020.
Thank you guys for all ur help
Cheers :)
