Hi guys,

I found this forum after a long search.
And I saw the brains and knowdlegd is here.

I'm a totally newby and the only thing I know is that I want to buy a receiver.
I saw the Kathrein ufs 910 is a very good receiver.
A guy I met told me that I could use this receiver like a "dreambox".
this he told me : without buying a "card" you can still receive hundreds of pay channels.
So after a search I know this is cardsharing (good of me hey :-) )

And my question is, is the kathrein a good receiver, is it capable to use cs?
And knowing I'm living in Belgium, can I use channels as tv-vlaanderen and others?

I hope i'm not to stupid to ask these questions for pro guys like you (but I think, everybody has to start with stupid onces no? LOL)

I thank anybody who can leave me a message, personal or not.

thanks again
deech

Hi deech123 great intro, the Kathrein is indeed are great reciever, however as a newbie i would opt for a cheap DM500 clone, about 80 GBP and make the mistakes on that. Then and only when comfortable with Linux would i splash out on a Kathrein.
Hope that helps

I've have both
A dreambox and a UFS910
If you have some knowledge of linux, theyre both suitable for your needs.

But if you don't have any experience with linux, i suggest the would dreambox

I think for kathrein there is not any knowledge for linux necessary. all you need is put the dline in peer.cfg on mgcamd almost like in gbox thats all. In the new AAF Image nearly all settings including lan settings can be done by remote control. Easier it cant be!
Happy Sharing!
