chroot environment for CCcam is not really required. CCcam can be tricked to believe it is running in enigma2 environment, and when this is done, it supports up to 8 connections to the camd.socket.

ca.c has to be slighly modified to support this, and camd.socket support in vdr-sc has to be changed to support multiple camd.socket connections.

The last version of vdr-sc that is available from the official repository has been modified to be able to exploit sevreal ca interfaces ( up to 8 ). The sources also include the code for the corresponding modified ca.c ( called cccam_ca.c in vdr-sc and located in the contrib directory).

When you launch CCcam with Preloaded, there is a message on the console that very cleaely indicates that CCcam has been fooled to think it is a DM8000 or a DM7025, hence opening 8 ca interfaces instead of 1.

I have integrated the vdr-sc code to the last version of open-sasc-ng ( sc/src/sc_src directory ) and it worked ok with mythtv and one dvb-s tuner, I have noy yet tested with two dvb-s tuners, but according to the spevc, it should work.

There is now an alternative coming up to be able to operate with two dvb-s cards and only one instance of CCcam, it's called emudragX86 ( search DVBN happysat and yoiu will find it ). EmudragX6 replaces ca.c ( or cccam_ca.c with vdr-sc) and hence must be PRELOADED when you run CCcam. The big differences with ca.c is that EmudragX86 can provide newcamd and radegast server connexions..... So, to make a long story short, you can connect you client ( whatever it is ) directly to the emudrag server using the newcamd or radegast proctols. You could for instance connect open-sasc-ng to emudragX86 using the newcamd protocols. I tested it Ok with one dvb-s card, needs to be tested with two dvb-s cards ( should normally workaccording to specs).

There is one problem though, open-sasc-ng and EmudragX86/CCcam can not run on the same system.... ( I have tried it but I miserably failed ! )..... unless of course, you use "chroot"
