Question ubuntu: Can't connect to tcp://127.0.0.1:37890 - 19-February-2009, 20:50

Hi all,
after longer searches and several (ugly) trys with other how-to's i found Shalafis great tutorials here in your forum. !!! THANKS Shalafi !!!

During installation everything seemed fine and for a newbie it was not so difficult to follow the tutorial.

But when i try to start the VDR i always get following error (also, when i use the command from the tutorial):

@vdr:~$ vdr-sxfe --video=xv --fullscreen
vdr-sxfe 1.0.3 (build with xine-lib 1.1.90, using xine-lib 1.1.90)

Video driver: xv
Fullscreen mode

@vdr:~$

I already tried it with a "xhost +" before, but same error.

Would you please give me some tips which log files to check and which config files to handle.

hardware:
CPU: AMD5050e
Board with DVI-out: GA-MA78G-DS3H (780G)
TV-card: hauppauge DVB-S2 budget card

libvdr-sc.so.1.7.0 No such file or directory - 22-February-2009, 21:00

Thanks hos_me for your tip.

but now i am completely lost ...

/var/bin/runvdr # tells me
vdr: can't access video directory /media/video

sudo /var/bin/runvdr # i get following error
vdr: /usr/lib/vdr/plugins/libvdr-sc.so.1.7.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

sudo find / -name libvdr-sc.so.1.7.0 # does not find anything

Normally i use Solaris, this is my first contact with ubuntu. When installing applications on Solaris i will do this at root (with a preconfigured environment (path, shell, ...)). For special applications you will be requested to install a special user and/or install the applications as a special user.

On ubuntu i had not both of it, neither root nor a "vdr-user". so i started Shalafis tutorial with a "sudo su -" to get a root-shell. All the commands of the tutorial i ran in this shell.

Do you think it is possible to fix the error

vdr: /usr/lib/vdr/plugins/libvdr-sc.so.1.7.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

or do you think i have to start from scratch.

regards Gjiaffaar

Hi, i just tested a bit and found three "different" errors.
From /var/bin/runvdr i removed the three (bold) lines

VDRCMD="/usr/bin/vdr -c /etc/vdr -E /var/vdr -l 3 \
-s /var/bin/vdrpoweroff.sh \
-P sc \
-P femon \
-P skinreel \
-P'xineliboutput -l none -r 37890 -p' \
-u root \
$*"

When all three lines are removed, the script (and vdr) is running. I did the installation steps from Shalafis tutorial for these plugins again, tested again, but same error.

After this test i put each only one of this lines back in place and found following errors.

[email protected]:~# /var/bin/runvdr
vdr: /usr/lib/vdr/plugins/libvdr-sc.so.1.7.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[email protected]:~# vi /var/bin/runvdr
[email protected]:~# /var/bin/runvdr
vdr: /usr/lib/vdr/plugins/libvdr-femon.so.1.7.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[email protected]:~# vi /var/bin/runvdr
[email protected]:~# /var/bin/runvdr
vdr: /usr/lib/vdr/plugins/libvdr-skinreel.so.1.7.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[email protected]:~#

Hi, searched arround and found two of the missing plugin files and moved them into plugin folder. Now /var/bin/runvdr starts without errors, but still the same when connecting to vdr.

if u see "no singal" i think u need only setting the channels

/etc/vdr/channels.conf

and /etc/vdr/source.conf

The content of the used files are pasted in the 2nd post of this topic. The only thing you need is the CCcam.x86 binary (/var/bin) and the CCcam.etc (/var/etc).

SC / cardclient.conf - 04-March-2009, 00:23

Hi!
Im looking at the cardclient.conf:
........................
# cccam client
#
# NOTE: hostname will be ignore. CCcam must be runnning on the local machine
# 'socket' is the name of the camd socket file. For multiple cards add %d
# into the string. This will be replaced with the number 0-3.
# e.g. /var/emu/chroot%d/tmp/camd.socket
cccam:127.0.0.1:9000:1/0000/0000:/tmp/camd.socket
.....................

Does that mean that i can't connect to another cccam server?
If not, witch plugin do you recommend for that?

@kaura

Correct. You need a local running CCcam instance. You can offcourse connect that instance to your server, just like you would do with a Dreambox. Or move the CCcam.cfg over to your VDR configuration.

@micro77

Read the 2nd post in this topic as well as a dedicated sticky in this forum.
