HOWTO: yaVDR with SC Plugin - 27-May-2010, 22:10

How to Install yaVDR 0.1.1
Boot disk downloaded from http://www.yavdr.org/download. Choose Install yet another VDR with dvb-s2 (lipilianin) support. Once you've installed yavdr from the .iso disk, you should see the iptv channels or the no signal screen.

SC Plugin
Using your computer keyboard press M and with the keyboard arrows select Applications and then select Web. The Firefox will open. Then Open http://www.filedropper.com/vdr-plugin-sc09xhg2i386 and Save vdr-plugin-sc_0.9.x~hg2_i386.deb to the default directory (/var/lib/vdr/Downloads)
Close Firefox, Yavdr will open, Press M (menu), Press 5... or select
"Applications... and then select Terminal"
Inside the terminal:
su <place here the name of the user when you installed yavdr>
password: <place the password of the user installation>
sudo -i
password: <place the password of the user installation>
Code:
cd /var/lib/vdr/Downloads #(or whatever you've downloaded the package)
cp vdr-plugin-sc_0.9.x~hg2_i386.deb /usr/local/src/.
cd /usr/local/src
dpkg -i vdr-plugin-sc_0.9.x~hg2_i386.deb
chown vdr:vdr /etc/vdr/plugins/sc
cd /etc/vdr/plugins
apt-get install nano
nano order.conf
# Inside order.conf the plugins are listed , so replace firstplugin with sc
#ctrl+x
#<"y"> to save, enter
cd /etc/vdr/plugins/sc
nano cardclient.conf # <"Put, here your proper data, to login to the iks or cardsharing">
Firmware
Only, If you are using a genpix 8psk adapter copy from your genpix drivers disk or from here http://rapidshare.com/files/37917377...mware.zip.html the dvb-usb-gp8-sk.fw and dvb-usb-gp8psk-02.fw to /lib/firmware and reboot the system. If you have genpix skywalker 1 or 2 you don't need to do any additional firmware load.

DVB config
Press M on your keyboard to bring the menu on. Then select option 6 (system), 1 (setup), 3 (dvb). And set auto update channels to "NO" on the dvb menu, otherwise will change the channels.conf file on a wrong basis. Setting to NO will avoid deleting ac3 pids in the channels.conf file, every time you change to a HD channel.

LNB config
Press M on your keyboard to bring menu on. Then select option 6 (system), 1 (setup), 4 (lnb) and select use diseqc. Then enter to exit.

Adjust XINE engine display
Press M on your keyboard to bring menu on. Then select option 6 (system), 1 (setup), 9 (plugins), 11 (xine), and set in OSD Display mone to X11 overlay.

SPDIF Audio
If you're using and external surround equipment don't forget to Setup the Alsa mixer using the
Code:
alsamixer
command for digital output. To unmuting the digital port you should go with the arrows to the iec958 port device and with the keyboard press "M". You should see the port change from MM (mute) to 00 (unmute). Then write the configuration using
Code:
alsactl store
You must change the xine configuration setting /var/lib/vdr/.xine/config for the external spdif surround setup if you are using and external spdif amp. Do the following:
press ctrl-alt-f2 <will open second tty>
login with your installation user
sudo -i
password <your password>
Code:
stop vdr
stop nodm
nano /var/lib/vdr/.xine/config # <set Alsa default output to: Pass Through instead Stereo 2.0>
start vdr
start nodm
Diseqc support
You must copy a valid diseqc.conf to /var/lib/vdr
Dont forget to stop the vdr engine. For this do:
Code:
stop vdr
stop nodm
cp /var/lib/vdr/Downloads/diseqc.conf /var/lib/vdr/.
start vdr
start nodm
Video Output
You can choose between (xine or xineliboutput) video output frontend, to select the way yavdr function, select this on the web front end in yavdr. (firefox). Log in with your installation user.
My configuration uses xineliboutput (the image is awesome), but if you prefer to use xine i will recommend you turn off autocrop, 'cause is very weird to see the screen cropping and changing all the time...
For this edit the file /usr/bin/start-xine
and set
Code:
USE_AUTOCROP = "0"

Great guide, but vdr-plugin-sc does not work for yaVDR 0.2.0.

Do you have a updated version?
Code:
# dpkg -i vdr-plugin-sc_0.9.xhg2_i386.deb
Selecting previously deselected package vdr-plugin-sc.
(Reading database ... 75534 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking vdr-plugin-sc (from vdr-plugin-sc_0.9.xhg2_i386.deb) ...

WARNING:
it's essential that this plugin is loaded before any other plugin
You can do that, by modify /etc/vdr/plugins/order.conf

Now all sc config files are at: /etc/vdr/plugins/sc/
Your files and folders are now automatily moved
Press ENTER to continue.
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of vdr-plugin-sc:
 vdr-plugin-sc depends on vdr-abi-1.7.10-debian; however:
  Package vdr-abi-1.7.10-debian is not installed.
dpkg: error processing vdr-plugin-sc (--install):
 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Errors were encountered while processing:
 vdr-plugin-sc

-) apt-get update
-) apt-get dist upgrade
-) reboot
-)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bpl3f1lmootj/yavdr-stable
apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vdr-plugin-sc
sudo apt-get install vdr-plugin-sc-cardclient
sudo apt-get install vdr-plugin-sc-nagra
sudo apt-get vdr-plugin-sc-constcw
