sasc-ng, smartreader+ and cyfra card - 12-February-2010, 13:56

Hello,
I am a newbie if it comes to cardsharing but have IT background, so I hope to catch up quickly.
I've got FTA channels are working via dvbloopback virtual card, cannot go beyond that though.

My setup:
skystarhd2
smargo+
ubuntu 9.10


I am trying to use my Cyfra+ card that is not supported in the s2-liplianin enabled skystarhd2 CI. All I got was "unknown card" after inserting cyfra CAM, although CI was recognized, judging by dmesg:

1. So went and bought smargo which seems to be recognized:

I used the patched version for kernel< 2.6.32 of ftdi_sio module linked from the cccam forum.

And serial converter part is initialized during the boot, with the latency timer error below however:

I changed udev rules so /dev/ttyUSB0 world writeable/readable.

2. I downloaded vdr-sc plugin and used contrib/sasc-ng part from

http://85.17.209.13:6100/sc

I created three configuration files:

cardslot.conf has one line uncommented:

cardclient.conf has only cccam enabled, as this seems most popular.

Now, I do not really understand why should I use CCcam if the only interesting part for me is dvbloopback device with sasc-ng which should read card data from the smargo and this is local operation, but I have installed CCcam 2.1.4 with a config like:

Same time, in the CCCam log I can only see the connection from sasc-ng:

and nothing obviously happens, the stream is not decrypted. Does not seem smargo is even touched to get the keys.

I would be grateful for any hints. The strange part for me is that /dev/ttyUSB is only touched once in sasc-ng and I do not really understand the role of cccam here. Is there a simple test to check if smartreader works properly and reads the card?
This Cyfra card works in WinXP with CAM+CI, checked.

Oh well long post. hope i can help. First: Reason why you need cccam is that sasc itself can notread the card. Why cccam? In my opinion the easiest to set up. but better would be newcamd server with the card reader as sasc has some problems with the cccam protocol (especially above server version 2.0.11. anyway what you should check if cccam has the card active. therefor open the cccam.cfg and check if the webserver is active. check on 127.0.0.1:16001 for which cards you have.
if you can not see an active card try to change the DVB API version in cccam.cfg to -1

this will help to get closer to the error. i do not think it is sasc related but cccam.

Hello I have SASC-NG configured with CCcam, I read the card with OScam, which is the best methot to acces to the card.

Is true that sometimes I get some errors with CCcam.
