Trouble tuning to 170MHz - 01-February-2010, 09:12

Hi folks!

I got myself a setup of vdr+skystar2 dvb-s+technotrend C-1200 dvb-c USB. I have VDR running good with skystar2, but am having trouble tuning to 170MHz on the C-1200. Strange is, that I can tune to 162MHz and receive channels from that frequency (pay-channels). However, 170MHz has fta channels and the damn thing won't tune to that frequency even though the parameters are right, 170mhz, 6875 symbols and QAM128. I'm using kernel 2.6.31 at the moment. Any hints or ideas what to do? Oh, I can tune to 170MHz on my STB dvb-c receiver in the living room.

Thanks in advance!

I have a similar setup and a similar problem. I cant remember exactly what frequencies doesnt work well, but with my dvb-c card, I got some frequencies that work well and some that dont. I tried to contact the developers and even offered a card to test but without sucess. Let me know if you have luck.

Introduction done. sorry.

Adding more information about the problem, I got this transponders problem even with different dvb-c cards. The one that works best for me is the onde based on bt878, but even that has bad reception on a few transponders.

I tried the dvb-c box on winxp but it cannot receive channels from 170MHz so I believe the box is broken or something. What a piece of ****. AFAIK the manufacturer has dropped support for it so it's only good as a paper weight.
