TT s-2300, no video out with vdr (???) - 06-November-2008, 20:26

I own a Technotrend S2300, ver 2.3, dvb-s card. I bought it six months ago from dvbshop.de, until today I have no succed to got picture from FBAS (composite video, yellow jack) while in linux and vdr, also kaffeine. Tested with various distros where the same behaviour. Always, I can say, noticed a vdr screen with some yellow-ish theme and later is dissappearing, meanwhile the tv is detecting that there is signal and isn't turning into blue "no signal" mode.
Tested on same pc, with same components, with windows xp and original driver and I had picture from there!!!

Is there any parameter which i have to set? is there matter with the firmware? Any help?

how did you load the driver of your DVB card?
when you "modprobe" dvb-ttpci, did you use some parameter like vidmode?

Maybe try one of this:
modprobe dvb-ttpci vidmode=1
modprobe dvb-ttpci vidmode=2
modprobe dvb-ttpci vidmode=3

If your firmware is not patched, you can view all free channels. Only scrambled channels stay black, but never the output of the card (ODS must be working with firmware patched or not).
Maybe you can give log when driver loaded

If the driver for your card is not loaded automatically during boot
or the wrong driver is loaded you can create a hardware
configuration file. For that purpose you need the PCI ID of your
card. Run "hwinfo --dvb" and look for "SysFS BusID". Suppose your
card requires the driver "budget" and has the SysFS BusID
"0000:00:0e.0" you need to create the file

/etc/sysconfig/hardware/hwcfg-bus-pci-0000:00:0e.0

with the following three lines as content:

MODULE='budget'
MODULE_OPTIONS=''
STARTMODE='auto'
Found into readme.suse of dvb documentation, I did it with some modifications regarding dvb-ttpci driver and now the vdr is working!

What a shame! I followed the how-to of Karl04 for seting up cccam+gox with vdr (with ubuntu) and that was the problem....now i cant find the neccesery files from karlito to do the setup again!

Thanks guys!
