Question VDR, vdr-plugin-opensc, cccam 2.1.2 - 10-February-2011, 11:36

i'm running ubuntu 10.10 maverick and i finally got everything up and running via the ppa from alexandr (ppa:surkov-alex/test9)

everything is running great and i can view all the FTA channels on astra 19,2E but i'm running into some problems when trying to setup opensc to work with cccam. cccam is running just fine and i managed that it creates the camd.socket (is this supposed to have 0 bytes??) in /tmp. so far so good....

i just can't figure out where to put the cardclient.conf (there is no /etc/vdr/plugins/sc folder) from the examples folder of opensc in order to get opensc to connect to cccam server.

basically i dont know where to put all the files (like cccam.cfg, cccam.channelinfo, SoftCam.key etc)

so if somebody knows what to do cccam-wise, after a successful install of vdr and opensc via a repository, any help would be nice.

i can post logfiles and other stuff if somebody needs them

here's the user.log when i try to access any non-FTA channel:
Code:
Feb 10 12:53:34 box vdr: [1461] VNSI-Error: cxSocket::read: read() error at 0/4
Feb 10 12:53:34 box vdr: [1461] buffer stats: 0 (0%) used
Feb 10 12:53:34 box vdr: [1295] loading /var/lib/vdr/plugins/vnsiserver/allowed_hosts.conf
Feb 10 12:53:34 box vdr: [1295] VNSI: Client with ID 5 connected: 127.0.0.1:36700
Feb 10 12:53:34 box vdr: [1487] VNSI: Welcome client 'XBMC Live stream receiver' with protocol version '1'
Feb 10 12:53:34 box vdr: [1488] VNSI-Error: Can't get device for channel 90 - Discovery HD
Feb 10 12:53:39 box vdr: [1295] VNSI: Client with ID 4 seems to be disconnected, removing from client list
Feb 10 12:53:39 box vdr: [1295] VNSI: cConnection::~cConnection()
Feb 10 12:53:39 box vdr: [1295] VNSI: stopping cConnection thread ...
Feb 10 12:53:39 box vdr: [1295] VNSI: done

thx in advance

There's lots of guides for CCcam around the forum and internet in general, but here you go...

/var/etc for CCcam.cfg
/var/etc for CCcam.channelinfo
/var/keys for SoftCam.Key

cardclient.conf lives in /etc/vdr/plugins/sc or /var/lib/vdr/plugins/sc

I personally haven't been able to get opensc to work (and I haven't bothered asking about how to get it to work) but sc works fine for me.

These files are case sensitive.

check localhost:16001 and you can see if cccam server has connections (option is listed in CCcam.cfg as well)

that means the cardclient.conf isnt read by opensc right? or it isnt setup right?

obviously you are not connected. i have no clue about opensc but normally the line should be cccam2:ip.to.server.box:port:1:usernam:password. the rest is kind of useless as long as you do not want to not use certain shares...

i changed it to cccam2:127.0.0.1:12000:1:root:dreambox:/tmp/camd.socket but still no connection to cccam

i can't shake the feeling that opensc just doesnt read the cardclient.conf

well you should see that when you start it. check the logs. i think the problem is elsewhere. did you put an approptiate F-line in your servers CCcam.cfg?
There must be a line
F: root dreambox

the login data for dreambox do not work!
by the way change the password if the box is reachable from outside.

i don't use a dreambox, the logins are just for the sc plugin to connect, dunno if that makes any difference. the thing is that my cccam.log stays empty although it is running, it created the camd.socket file in /tmp and i can connect to localhost:16001 and i see the web interface of cccam

What you need is to add an F Line in your CCcam.cfg file

F: username password

Then use a cccam2 line in your cardclient.conf file

cccam2:localhost:12000:0/0000/ffff:username:password

If you can't see your user in the CCcam web interface then opensc isn't connecting. I can't get opensc to connect so just use SC.

Also, if you haven't used ca.so and preloaded it then you won't be able to use the /tmp/camd.socket method.
