DM 800 Crash - general question - 21-August-2008, 10:39

Not quite sure I am in the right section but here goes anyway.

I have a DM800 running a gemini image (gemini2-360-dm800-200806191232) with Cccam 2.09.
It had been running fine for a few weeks. I needed to reboot and that's when I hit the wall.

Booting would just not complete, it would hang indefinitely.

I suspect some of the log files ate up all the free space on the flash drive.

So here is the question: what happens when the flash memory is full ? Can the DM still boot or not ?

I have also read it could be related to heat problems but that's another story.

Not sure there is a quick way. Obviously flashing the box will reformat everything. It could be a temperature issue. I have my dm800 on a laptop cooler with three fans blowing up from the bottom with good results. I also had a problem with a missing portmap. Without portmap it would take 3 mins to mount an nfs share (which is did on boot). It could also be a corrupted config. If you really get stuck then reflash it.

Gentoo Linux - Nexus-s, Linux VDR - 2 x ATSC HD cards, Hauppauge PVR 500 for analog US Cable, 3 x Hauppauge MVP's running Vomp on VDR, UK TV on IPTV.

Not a single sat dish at the moment. :-(
