dm500 loopback interface - 02-February-2012, 01:01

Hi,

I have a dm500 with Pli jade, used as a client. When I log in to my dm500 via telnet I have noticed that I have a lot of loopback connections from port 80, even when I am not connected to the web interface. Is this normal or what may cause these port 80 connnections?? I know that the state says TIME_WAIT but if I refresh the table the port numbers 3136.. etc increses. I just want to ensure that everything is ok, or otherwise if someone could explain what can possible cause these loopbacks.

tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:80 127.0.0.1:3136 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:80 127.0.0.1:3100 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:80 127.0.0.1:3102 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:80 127.0.0.1:3103 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:80 127.0.0.1:3132 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:80 127.0.0.1:3133 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:80 127.0.0.1:3134 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:80 127.0.0.1:3128 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:80 127.0.0.1:3129 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:80 127.0.0.1:3131 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:80 127.0.0.1:3125 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:80 127.0.0.1:3126 TIME_WAIT
etc...

Thanks in advice... /T

Check with this command what is the program making those connections:
#netstat -antp

I think those connections are related with webinterface of PLI ,so no worry than.

Cheers!

#netstat -antp
the p option doesnt exist since I get this error message:
netstat: invalid option -- p

Well, I guess things are as they should, probably related to the web interface as you thought... Thanks for taking the time.
