it looks something like this

ip 192.158.1.102
netmask 255.255.255.0
type lan
nameserver 192.158.1.1
gateway 192.158.1.1

no
you don't put your "internet" ip in the dreambox
you leave your ip that was assigned by the router
what you need to do is port forward the port (or dmz : but be careful, that's a security hazard) to your dreambox (hence to the ip 192.168.1.102)

cheers

i went into router settings, went to dns settings, entered my hostname and password, then saved. I also noticed the dmz settings, what do I enter here?, dns ip or dreambox ip, also do i enter port 12000?, thanks

Best practice is to have a "fixed" IP address on your local network for your box i.e. not use your router DHCP. this way u can map your router port translation to your fixed IP address.

Your DNS Name will be used when u give C: lines for your peers.

give the dreambox an ip in the same subnet as the router

ex: router ip : 192.168.1.1 subnet: 255.255.255.0
dreambox ip : 192.168.1.16 subnet: 255.255.255.0
Dreambox gatway = routerip= 192.168.1.1
also dns server so you can resolve host names ( ask your ISP) or your your router ip as dns server if you have configure it to do such service

and exclude that ip ( dreambox's) from the dhcp ip pool

enjoy
