open web interface with dyndns IP for streaming - 09-November-2009, 15:50

Hi,
I would like to open my web interface thru internet to stream my dm7020.
On my local network, no problem. Under firefox I enter the address of my DB 192.168... then I click on VLC and it works perfectly.
But I would like to access my web interface with my dyndns address but I don't know how.
Somebody knows?

you have to open the right ports...

being you dont know this...you should just leave it alone..>>

leaving your box open ...is a heavy security risk

but is you really must...> @ your own risk

Thank you for your answer cold007.
I can understand it is a security risk but I guess I have enough knowledges with dreambox to change my password.
That's my own risk, as you said, so perhaps you can develop your answer and the reader of the forum (and me) will learn something.
Antoine.

OK I just have to open the port 80 to access my web interface with my dyndns.
But cold007 is right, it is a heavy security risk so password has to be changed in anyway...

Even if you change the password on ur dreambox it is still a big security hole.

Unless you learn to use .htaccess and .htpasswd DO NOT open port 80 to your dreambox!!
