Cccam.config. Can i change my c-line?? - 17-March-2010, 13:57

Hello to everyone,

I did my reading through nearly all the tutorials, but many question still have no response :-)
MY questions are:
1-CAN i change my c-line at the CCcam.config.var/etc ?
2-Do i have to invent a name for my servername at the c-line? or is that somewhere estabilished?
3-For every new CCcam that i download should i also download a new CCcam.config. file? If yes where do i have to find that file?
4- Should The pass. and the username for the f-line be the same as the pass. and the username of the dreambox?

Thank you very much for the time you are spending to respond to these questions.

1.You may damage your shares or reshares if you change your cline so be careful, maybe post what it is you want to change.

2.You need to create an account at either no-ip.com or dyndns.org and use that as your server name.

3.Not unless there has been a major update in CCcam versions.

4.No,
The password and username for flines is your choice,I would usually have it linked in someway to the persons username that you are sharing with.

Hope that helps and I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong :)

Hi,
Me again:-)
I inherited this c-line from a paid abonnament i had, now i decided to not pay anymore my question is:
1-can i use the present c-line for further conections with new peers?
2-do i have to change the server name in the c-line? or should i just continue using the
present servername?

Thank you very much for the time you are spending to respond to these questions.

the cline you have relates to an fline at the paid server.
when you stop paying, this cline will most likely be deleted and is then useless to you.
clines you give out to new peers for sharing are each paired with a fline you set up for them in your server.

Than what should i do?

should i Create a new f-line and the c-line based on it? If i change the c-line at theCccam.config. file, than i risk to damage the shares and reshares?

yes m8,create an fline for the person you wish to share with, this will have a user and pass for them, and as balderdash said, base it on there forum username is useful.the cline you send them will have the dyndns account info, port they use,and there user pass info.make a copy of your cccam cfg and keep it safe.
when you update cccam in future, just download the bin version and your cfg will remain.if you download the full version your cfg will be overwritten with the default cfg.this default cfg has examples of how f and c lines should look.you can overwrite or copy paste your backup cfg into this.

What kind of dyndns account info should i place at the c-line?
Not certailnly the username and the pass i use to log in?

In your dyndns.com account you need to create a hostname then use that i.e.

C: iamfreak.dyndns.com 12000 etc etc

As regards my earlier point, about editing your cline, that was based on a working cline,
Now as you are no longer with that server you can either comment out that cline or delete it altogether as it will no longer have any effect on your shares.

Hi to all,
Which ip adress should i declare when i create a host name?
That of my pc?my router?or dreambox?
As you understand i have a network with router, and i have also a fixed ip.

And what about the port number that i have to declare in the c-line?

Thank you very much, you already been very helpful.

if you have read nearly all the tutorial, you should have known already the answer to your questions. to be clear:

1. when you created the account in your dyndns information, use that same account username and password in your router config under dynamic dns so that when your ip changes, the dyndns gets updated.

2. CREATE a server. only then you can share to other peers. (read the tutorials, again)
3. HUNT for peers. i suggest you go to the free CS section and read up on what others have for share that might interest you, otherwise get a local card and share it that way.
4. stay away from payservers. report the C line you are using right now to the mods and admins as a way of saying "thank you" for letting you on this forum despite admitting to using a paid service.

i shall be closing this thread pending your reading and understanding of the cccam.cfg file and how to port forward the needed ports from within your router.

again, read the TUTORIALS!
