What happens if you change the pass after someone has already gained unauthorized access to the dm? Does that mean they can no longer access it?

If someone gained unauthorized access then change the password immediately. If he changed it already use tuxbox commander to edit the /etc/passwd file and remove the chinese after root: and then login with no password to create a new one. And yes, they won't be able to access it any longer but you should change the passwords in gbox/cccam configs as well, in case he took them.

Thanks. One of my peers did in fact gain access to my DM because i had not changed the password. I have now changed the DM password.

Should I also change the password in cccam.config or is that unnecessary now that i have changed the dm password? Should i also change my dyndns address to be safe?

For anyone who it may concern the peer who accessed it is "techstuffs", although I dont think he was tryomg to cause any damage because he told me what he had done and that i should change my password. He also said he could access my channels even though i removed his F line.

I check my peers boxes on 23/16000/16001/80 ports as well. Don't want my dyndns address(=ip) out in the public, especially when card sharing is involved :D

No need to change the dyndns but change telnetinfo (16000) and webinfo (16001) logins/passwords (from default root/dreambox) so that others do not have access to it.

Could you please tell me how to change these passwords?
