dreambox, orange livebox, internet connection - 24-October-2007, 18:26

sorry for some of my earlyer confused posts but this is where i have got to now with my quest for dreambox internet connection. i have a dmbox 7020, windows vista pc, orange livebox wireless internet connection all working fine.my dreambox is connected to my pc with a cross over cable and to my livebox wireless moden with a ethrnet cable in my dreambox comms set up i have given my dreambox the ip 192.168.1.24 netmask 255 ect. nameserver my primary dns server add 195.92.xxx.xx but iam not sure what add to put in the gateway i know it is supposed to be the local lan ip address but do not no were i can find that add. also can anyone tell me if you can get a socket to plug into the erthnet port on my live box modem to let it take 2 cables thanks

in my network map i now have pc--- switch--- livebox dcb8--- pc all showing green= connected but then a red x--- to internet= no connection.anyone help.

hi there. the gateway is whatever connects directly to the internet.if your computer is connected via modem then the gatway is pc. if you are connected via a router then the gateway is the routers ip, the nameserver is same ip as gateway.
