heeeelp only 4 serial ports need 5 ???

hello is there somebody on the board up to date with linux i have ubuntu 8.04 Lts server
i have add a pci 4 serial portcard but have the following problem linux sees ownly 4ports standart
ttyS0 to 3 thats 1 on the motherboard en 3 on the pci card, the pci card works fine till port 3 but not on port 4 (ttyS4)
and thats one of the internal ports i need .ttyS4 is not in my /dev folder in know that it can be created can you help me ore swits it on in kernel

the 8.10 version is that one lts ore not and do you know if that is working .

by default linux work only with 4 serial port,
I have the same problem with debian, and I could not add com5 and com6 to my debian
for adding ttyS4 to your linux, try this command:
MAKEDEV ttyS4
this command not work for me, but maybe work for you

tried that and but nothing workt
and i tryt the mknod olso noting workt ownly that the
ttyS4 was creaded but the test whit setserial it says no file ore directory
so there is no link maibee a new tip it is something with Kconfig there you can change it but hou do i get it to run???
