Help With DreamBox - 29-September-2007, 15:28

Hi,

it is possible to use the card sharing technology without actually sharing a card? I dont have any to share!!

Im interested in getting channels that show Premier League UK football, so what do I need to do this?

What dish do I need, and do I just buy a dreambox?

Does dreambox take wireless network card?

DO i need to setup a dreambox server or client? I dont have a card to share so Im guessing I dont have to have a server, or is that just a name for the "box"?

any help is appreciated

Thanks

Hi,

A few answers :

a dreambox can be only a client for CS, so doesn't need to be a server.

it doesn't work with a wireless card but there are so called ethernet bridges (wirless gaming adapter) that can turn cable into wireless.

For the dish is something you need to look into.. money, view, cabling 1 or more receivers, ...

If you are using 1 or 2 receivers and don't need exotic sat's a multytenne is very usefull.
It receives 4 sats. astra 1, 2 , 3 and hotbird.

for more info on the channels you can receive on these sat's you can look at www.kingofsat.net

A dreambox is not just a plug and play box especially not when you are sharing cards.

Good luck

Well Ill need channels on most satellites (nilesat, Eutelsat(sp), intelsat10, intelsat 7 etc)

Why would I need more than 1 receiever? Also, would an 80cm motorised dish be ok?

Once im setup, how would I go about getting access to the various satelites / channels?

Thanks for your help
