how to backup motor settings - 17-December-2007, 12:29

Hello.

I've backep up everything else with DCC.

Does anybody know in which file are stored the motor settings ?

This may be what you want:

"
Courtesy of Gsat

The file you need to mod is the /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/config file. The Diseqc 1.2 motor settings are in the line starting with 's:/elitedvb/DVB/config/lnbs/0/RotorTable'

The settings for my VBOX positions are by way of example:
s:/elitedvb/DVB/config/lnbs/0/RotorTable=-0300014-0220030-0180011-0150029-0125028-0080010-0070027-0050009-0040025-0010008+0050006+0070005+0100004+0130001+0160003+01 92002+0216033+0235016+0260017+0282019+0305020+0330 031+0360032+0390035+0400041+0420022+0450036+053002 3

Yours may/will well be different but you get the idea..... format is ie:
For:
-0300014
-0300 = 30 West (Hispa)
014 = stored position 14

or

+0192002
+0192 = 19.2 East
002 = stored position 2

Whenever I load a new image I select diseqc complex setup, untick the USALS setting, save and exit, then load captains settings, reboot.

When it comes back and the bouquets etc are loaded FTP to the box pull back the file, paste in JUST THE RotorTable VALUES ( save them from an image that you have already set up and are happy with ). I am using the FireFTP plug-in for Firefox as my FTP client as it works form me personally and has a handy edit in place feature where you right click on the file - Open With, modify locally and Upload to save it back over FTP. yes, it's working. But after uploading the new config file, u must power off the dream from the outlet, because if you just simply reboot, the config file gets overwritten.

No, but i guess you try to edit with notepad or some other windows editor, and it inserts some hidden non-linux characters, and because of that the dream cannot read the config file any more.
