How to set up a network mount for DM800 with Nabilosat v.12

I had a good look around and could not really find a good tutorial on setting up a network mount for my DM800 on either this site or many others,
I found a few that did not seem to work using the mount wizard managed to get it mounted but when I pressed the red button it was looking for internal mount.
In the end ive done it this way takes seconds… and works very well.
If your mounting it on a windows pc you must first share a folder
(I would advise mounting on to a separate hard drive from the one that contains your windows operating system on it).
Be warned if some leaves it recording it will fill up very quickly aprox 1.8gb an hour and your os will not function if the hard drive is full.
Make a folder call it what you want eg DM800 inside that make a folder called movie then close it right click on folder called DM800 and move mouse to sharing and security tick share this folder and tick allow network users to change my files apply close
When you go back to the file it should have a hand under it confirming its shared.
All set up is done via remote now
Press menu
Then setup (6)
Then system (2)
Then Network configuration
Then network browser
This will (after a short time) bring up your network places
Select from the list the correct ip then scroll down until you find the folder DM800 (or what ever you called it) that you want to record on to.
It will ask then if you want to enter a user & password
In my case I have mounted Cifs on my Linux server (works great) and the user and password need to be correct but I think you can select no if its on a windows xp machine if you do not use accounts on that machine and it will still work.
After you have given a user and password (if needed) it will take you to a new screen that should all be filled out for you move down to where it says use as HDD replacement from no change to yes.
After that you press ok to save and that’s it then prees red button to start recording and red to stop then press video to watch anything you have recorded.
Also worth mentioning you can mount as many places as you want although I think you can only have 1 set to active at 1 time.
You can enable or disable spare mounts by pressing menu, 6, 2, then Network configuration then mount management.
Hope this helps

Nice tutorial foz, I also got it to work just fine with cifs on my 7020 and laptop.
Have you managed to get NFS to work? I have SIF 1.9.4 on my 7020 but I can not get it to work.
I am using BH 0.12 on my 800. NFS is enabled on both 800 and 7020.

my old dm500 used to lagg alot if my windows pc was turned off so this time i made sure i got it working on my server.
i only got this working this morning using the above method but for sd recordings its great.
