Linux server as client and server at same time (is it possible??) - 10-October-2007, 16:24

Hello!

I have DM500S and i am using MGCamd to receive keys from the server..
I want to buy one more dreambox for another room, and i want to know if it's possible to setup a CS Server at my linux server and have as source the MGcamd server i am using now. So i want my linux server to be client and receiving keys, and forwarding them to my 2 dreamboxes.

Is it possible??

Thanks in advance!!

Thanks for your reply!
You mean to also use gbox to the source server?
In my case this is not possible. :(
Is it possible gbox to receive keys from MGCamd server??

Thanks again!

When you define server, what do you mean by that? At the end of the day the keys are either on a card or an emulated card. If you have the card, then there is no problem, you can change the whole system over to either Gbox or CCcam, both of which would work on a linux server.

However, if the keys/card is with a friend who is using MGCam, then you could try and persuade them to change to CCcam, which is pretty easy to use, or Gbox, which, in my experience, works slightly faster.

Getting CCcam or Gbox running on linux is pretty similar to getting it working on a dreambox, but you'd need the x86 versions.

If you have the card in a dreambox you could just share it from one to the other.

Gentoo Linux - Nexus-s, Linux VDR - 2 x ATSC HD cards, Hauppauge PVR 500 for analog US Cable, 3 x Hauppauge MVP's running Vomp on VDR, UK TV on IPTV.

Not a single sat dish at the moment. :-(
