hi i have got streaming working in vlc. the only problem is it only works when i have ethernat cable connected. what have i done wrong. i want to use wireless
I have download speed 4500 kb/s and sending speed 180kb/S what is the best setup for me ,, to get the picture,, i know will not be good quality but not freezing all the time thats all I want.
I have managed to stream but the problem is ,, its freezing and or nothing at all,, but when Im watching at home,, it no problem at all,, just when Im watching over inter some where else its not working,, and I think its because of my setup,,
It would be nice to know how to calculate the setup to get steaming over internet
your setup is this
My setup is:
Encapsulation MPEG - TS
Video codec H-264 at 256 kb/s - scale 0.4
Audio MP3 64 kb/s 1 channel
- Then click stream!!!
Thank you

Housey>>> if you forward port to the wireless ip insetad of the ethernet ip,, it should work :)
Maybe your have forward example ( 8080) to enthernet ip... because local ip and wireless ip its not the same.
you must make static ip.
your wireless default ip is ( depeding on what type of wireless it is )
default ip : 192.168.0.1
your wireless will be ( e.g.) 192.168.0.5
and conecting with ethernet will be : 192.168.0.8
and maybe your have port 8080 only forward to 192.168.0.8
hope that helps

I have got everything right, when I stream over internet, it playes and freez. I dont know how to calculate bitrate for streaming. I live in uk, I must say I havent got the best sending speed rate its only 175kb/s and download speed is 4000 kb/s.
I used h-264
MPEG-TS
bitrate 256 kb/s
scale 0.4
Audio mp3 16kb/s
channel 1
