Indeed..
Quality of china clones is better, since they also have a blower to keep the box cooler, and also the door doesn't fall off..
As for software, its all beoing checked by a sim card and digital signatures.
If you have the right sim there is absolutely no difference...

This is a DM800 issue. I have an original, and also signal never shows over 40%... still everything works fine though.

I have a clone that supposedly has the new l3 tuner, I'm having issues with picture break up on certain cs HD channels, not all and the free HD channels are fine. SNR varies from 55 to 90 but seems to have no relation to which channels suffer. does this sound like a tuner problem or server problem?

definately a tuner problem, ive had the same thing. i have quad LNB with a Humax Foxsat and DM500 and a Technomate in the bedroom for ages and all three of them read the signal strength in the mid to high 80%. Yet when i got my DM800HD it was reading barely 55-60% on alot of HD channels. Thats why i had to get the inline amp. It has helped a little boosting the signal to about 62-67% but its still nowhere near as high as my other equipment. The tuners on the DM800's do appear to be very sensitive
