DM500 & Dreamboxedit v2.02.00 - 06-May-2007, 17:48

Hi all...
i'm having great big problems with dreamboxedit on my DM500 (gemini 3.5 image)
I can download (ftp) from the dream, edit the bouquets, but after i do upload and reboot, the changes aren't visible in the dream.

Tried with previous version of dbxedit... no go...
i'm gonna pull out some hairs soon... anyone have any troubleshooting tips for me please?

Thanks,
Tom.

I have read every where that the Gemini 3.5 has a problem with Dreamboxedit. Do you have tried it with Dream Bouquetter.

If you have opted to receive your Settings from the Dreambox, try this:-
Open your Settings File on Dreamboxedit as usual.
Under Services (on the left hand side of your screen) highlight any service you wish.
Press Control A on your Keyboard. This will highlight all your services (but you have to be patient and wait for about 1 minute or so for this to happen). Then right click on the highlighted services and click on Set Keep Flag>On. Now you have to be patient and wait again for about 1 to 2 minutes. When ready, Click Save and FTP your Settings to your Dreambox as usual. No need to reboot when ready. Just restart the cam you're using. From now on, you can edit any channel you like, save what you edit, send to dreambox and what you edit stays there as you wish.

@ choco: thanks for the detailed explanation... but does this have an impact on creating bouquets??

@ potthth: "Dream Bouquetter" is very unfriendly to use, to me at least... could you supply a link to where it says dreamboxedit & gemini3.5 don't go well together? I'm curious to see if there are any details abt it.

@ icekiller: dreamboxedit readt the bouquets just fine from the box ... so shouldn't be any path problem. Anyhow the path to userbouquets for gemini is /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/

Thanks for your comments guys!

If Var is full (it's very small on dmm500) it may not allow change.
or once loaded bouquets, dont click on reboot/restart, just unplug it and then plug in again. worth a try to hard reboot it.

@Tii...it will just fix your problem, m8. You can still create whatever bouquets you like...no problem at all. If your var is full, get rid of what is unwanted.

@all: thanks for the suggestions...I tried Eggs_n_Beans's tip first & case closed. I did as he proposed, and since then, everything works totally as expected... i can just click on reload settings in dreamboxedit, and the dm500 takes the changes no prob.
To be clear : i pulled the plug just 1x, since then all is well.
For info : enigma/bluepanel says there's 1.7Meg free, does that count as /var being full????????????

Cheers guys!
