dm500s loosing signal - 05-September-2010, 17:25

Hi All

I installed a dm500s on a fixed dish with 2 LNB's one for Hotbird and the other for Astra. The problem is when I start changing channls even on the same satallite after a couple of channels I loose the signal strength. Can anyone help please.
I'm suspecting that it's the tuner.

Thanks
Jobon

retune it again, dreambox is very finicky when it comes to signal strenght. BER should be 0 (zero). since you are retuning, change the lnb with good quality ones, like inverto or invacom. then change the cable. only then you should entertain the tuner problem.

I think of the tuner because I manage to get 96% signal. Can it be the diseqc switch ?

Thanks and regards

Changing channels, does it loose signal between H & V polarisation or even when you stay on H or V?
Some high iso switches are problematic with the dreambox you need to sent repeat signals in the LNB settings
