Dm500s Questions - 09-May-2008, 22:33

Hi

I've just upgraded to a DM500S from an Innovative receiver.
I'm used to patching etc and am confident with the inns and outs of DCC
However my Linux code isn't up to scratch, I used to have a basic grip of Ultrix which was a form of Unix but seems a bit different.
I've search ed the forum but am struggling to find explanations of items such as:

Hop1 Hop2 etc, how do i find my Cline..?

Everything i see is explained well but not for that of a novice to the system.
This was similar when i entered the world of Innovative but after a while i wrote a few start up guides for complete novices and i intend to do the same here after a while..

I hope i haven't come across as one of those posters who expects someone to do everything for them, I'm just basically after a point in the direction of some good links to start my research from scratch..

Regards
OM

Thumbs up go cccam - 09-May-2008, 23:00

> Register your ip address at www.dyndns.com for a hostname like m0nk3y.no-ip.org
> Port forward port 12000 on your router to your dreambox ip.
> Using the dreambox, depending on what image you put on, download from your image server by the blue button or yellow button,,,download & intall cccam 2.0.8 and also download & install the cccam config. activate the cam*
> open dcc, goto the folder var/etc ,, there you will find cccam.cfg,,,delete the text thats in that,,,and put in M8's c lines.
> your c line is,,, c: m0nk3y.no-ip.org 12000 sky uk1979834

>>12000 is the port for your server,,, sky is the username for the individual who has the sky nds card,,,uk1979834 is the password.

>>You send him your c line,,you add the username and pass to an f: line like so,,, F: sky uk1979834 ,,, so in your cccam.cfg you have two lines,,, the f line with your username and password and his c line.

HOP1 and HOP2

This is the distance in CCcam that a card appears to you.
So a HOP1 card will be in the dreambox of one of your peers
A HOP2 card will be in a dreambox that is a peer of a peer and has no direct connection to you.

How to find a Cline ?

If you have a card yourself ( your LOCAL)
then post here stating what you have in the header( RULE14)
http://www.eurocardsharing.com/f197/

If you have NO local card then post here:
http://www.eurocardsharing.com/f199/

Or if you require a certain provider you can request a card here:
http://www.eurocardsharing.com/f157/

How to find YOUR C Line:

Register at DYNDNS and pick a HOSTNAME eg opsmonkey.dns.com
you then need to open a port to give access for your peers (Default for CCcam is port 12000)
When you agree a share you will be asked for a C line, at this point you will need to make up a user name and password for you peer.
Example:

I have ART so you may give me a C line of:
C: opsmonkey.dns.com 12000 Theskyman Artfull
You would then add the following F line :
F: Theskyman Artfull
to the CCcam.cfg
Hope that answers your question ?
