dm7025 creates 8 cams???? - 12-March-2008, 02:37

Hi m8s,

I am trying to get sharing working between a dm7025 and dm500. Initially I had setup cs with only the dm500, and infinity usb as the cardreader on com1 of XP notebook using newcs. It ran well for a week until I finally got hold of a null modem cable and was able to flash the dm7025 from original factory image enigma to Pli image with CCcam 208 and newcs 150. I bought the dm500 already preloaded with Gemini image with CCcam 204 and newcs 131. Now that the dm7025 has the necessary softcams installed the idea is to use the upper/lower slots of the dm7025 for the card(s).

I have read several guides and tutes for CCcam and some how to for newcs and I think I understand the basics but I must still be doing something wrong because all I see is a black screen, no pics. I have amended CCcam config file and the newcs xml.

I ran a telnet session last night and saw that CCcam had loaded softcam and autoroll keys and constant cw but was utterly confused when the log reported that CCcam had detected the dm7025 and created 8 cam devices. I was expecting to see 2 cam devices. The log also told me that the card detect had failed, no working cam device found, no need to continue.

So I guess the card failed because the cam wasnt enabled? How do I tell the cam that the card is actually in the upper or lower slot (I thought I had already done this in the newcs xml)?

I had toyed with the idea of hooking the infinity usb to the back of the 7025, but that seems to be overkill when the box already has 2 slots. Any help appreciated. Cheers,
