Angry DM800 and peers - 04-August-2008, 02:35

I can not belived !!!

When I put cccam.cfg from my DM600 to my DM800, DM800 is blocked?!

After several hour "fight" my decision is that DM800 (enigma 3.7) can not handle "so many" peers !!!

I have 130 peers on my DM600 and he work fine, w/o any problems.

In DM800 i have 10 peers and he work fine too. But when i chenge config files, DM800 blocked totaly (NIC can not get IP, screen is black and so on).

I try all that i can invent. Finaly i start delete peers (only for test ofcorse) and when peers approach round about 30 or 40 - O MIRACLE, DM800 start working normaly.

This problem return me a year ago when i use GBOX. But GBOX on DM500 with 220 peers is a diferent situation !!!

This f***** piece of technology is make me mad. First was optical out problem with latest images ( i try Gemini, PLI, Nemesis ...) now this, with peers.

Did any body have decision for this nonsens problem?
Do not tell me to make a PC server, please ;)

Cheers, ...., cheers, ..., cheers, ..., cheers ..., what about I am tolking for?! ..., Cheers

Temperature is the biggest problem with a DM. If you've got so many peers the DM may be so busy it heats up. I would recommend having the server on a seperate machine if you can. However, if not, make sure you have swap activated and the DM is cool enough.

Gentoo Linux - Nexus-s, Linux VDR - 2 x ATSC HD cards, Hauppauge PVR 500 for analog US Cable, 3 x Hauppauge MVP's running Vomp on VDR, UK TV on IPTV.

Not a single sat dish at the moment. :-(
