Exclamation Dream 500s clone ETHERNET DEAD!!! - 13-November-2008, 01:20

Hello, I have one dreambox 500s clone that has a DEAD ETHERNET. Another friend of mine has the same problem. I can't flash firmware from ethernet, only rs232, If i connect with ftp I can only navigate to one or two folders and then dead again. Does anyone know what can we do to repair it?

You didn't understand. I use gemini 4.00 . The ethernet stopped working after more than a yar with the same image. I installed also older versions of gemini but nothing changed. It must be hardware based problem.

the ASIX chip in the bottom left hand corner if you look from the front of the db will probably be the cause but to replace this without a rework station will be difficult

I am pasting from the post I made on another forum. I guess you have the same problem
----------------
You possibly need to do a little soldering. There is a capacitor near ethernet chip, C65 (33uF/16V) (the 'big' one) replace this by a 220uF/16V capacitor.

The following document states there are two more capacitors to modify, but changing C65 did the trick for me.
