didn't get the licence, instead you use a dvi to hdmi converter and use the audio out jacks into audio in on tv

Lightbulb Dvi - 10-March-2008, 11:21

Hi
Thanks for your info but I'm little bit confused between dvi and hdmi
What is the difference ?
Is DVI not used for HD Ready channels, channels broadcasted in hd ?
IS DVI connection good for channels broadcasted in MPEG-4 format ??
Please clarify us if you can !
Thanks again for your info in this stuff.
Regards

i know the likes of sly only use HDCP between the box and the TV. I repeat NOT between the signal and the box.

You are fine for sly, as for the others i do not know. I persume they don't do it either.

well hdmi can cope with hdcp encoded signals where as dvi can not unless its dvi/hdcp

its a bit like macrovision with scart

anyhow no provider that i know of are currently using hdcp encryption on there signals but its very easy to imply and can see them doing so in the future so no hdmi on this stb is a downfall
