Exclamation Gaining high transfer speeds from DB (7020) - 26-September-2007, 21:01

Guys I have totally got myself in a twizz!

I have a 160GB Hdd in my 7020 and I am after transferring films i ihave recorded on to my external HDD. I have mounted a USB HDD to try and quicken the process but to no avail. I have about 60gb of rips that i want to watch when i work away but the process is taking forever!!!
At current my set up is hard wired from my DB to my Router and i connect to my laptop wireless.

Have any of you guys got anything similar? Is there a way of getting better transfer ratres than 0.386??////

any help would be greatly appreciaited (hopefully before friday)

many thanks for your input

Try to connect your laptop with a cable on the router. The wifi coverage u have might have a lot of errors,so to elliminate the errors the transfer rate goes down.

As anyone transfered from DB to PC? If so what speeds are ou getting?
Many thanks I seem to think that high data transfer rate is poor on these 7020's?

have a great weekend

Hello!
I have a 7020 and I know that there is a bug with the LAN card. When you try to watch on line on your computer ( with VLC ) the image is choppy due to the slow transfer rate. I think is the same problem for you when you try to transfer files over the LAN. There is a fix to this problem, you have to solder a condenser somewhere on the PCB but this way you will loose the warranty of the dreambox. I think that's the explanation. The same problem is with D500 from what I know. Cheers!

The same DM images sets network speed 10Mbits as default in Dreambox if network card in PC setting is automatic. You can try manualy set PC network card speed to 100Mbits.
