Lightbulb GBOX vs. CCCAM - nfo - 30-April-2008, 12:59

Hi all,

I ma old GBOX user, just migrated to CCCAM.

GBOX or CCCAM? This is the question.

My impression in few words is:

1. GBOX is more easily to mange
2. CCCAM have beter control for each peer
3. GBOX is faster
4. CCCAM is stable
5. To avoid freezes in GBOX, must work hard and have good knowledge in GB sharing
6. To make good ignor for CCCAM, must have good knowledge in CCCAM sharing and work hard

My decision:

I don't know yet. May be cccam is better for stable sharing w/o freezes.

For now i stay with one GBOX and one cccam server.

Regards

My personal opinion, is that CCcam is indeed far better and with less freezes and generally, doesn't take that much effort to have it stable up-and-running.

The ignore list is indeed some hard work but, once you have done that, only some daily maintenance is needed.
Me personally do maintenance for like 10 minutes every day and everything works just fine..;

The best way to put CCcam stable and fast is to:

Allow hop1 cards, but only allow in hop2 Providers with PPV channels(Taquilas, ALACarte, Prima Fila...).
Turn off reshare in very slow peers, more than 200ms pings, peers outside Europe are often very slow.

Now I have my DM500s with more than 100 cards in hop1 and running fast and stable, it takes some time to connect to all peers at startup(since I have more than 90 peers), but once it's connected it flys.

As already said, Gbox is faster but CCcam is more stable, I prefer having CCcam since with CCcam you can watch everything without freezes even if you use hop2 cards. Good pings are really important. Peers from Portugal, Germany, Nederlands, and Sweden
usually have very good pings and are great for sharing.

Cheers.

True, I also have some peers from Belgium and Great Britain with good pings.

Cheers.

Well, what can I say...

I moved from gbox to Ccam last December, and I am still gratefull to the guys who made me change. There are a few tips you should keep in mind though.

* Never take more hops then 2, and if you have enough peers, only take hop1, and maybe hop2 from your best peers.
* Don't take peers with pings over 200, and preferably, you should try to keep them under 100ms.
* Try to find peers with full packs, and only take 2 or 3 peers per provider
* Find a .prio file which fits your needs
* Keep the number of cards low... 2500 cards may look nice, but won't make CCcam any faster. 200 carefully selected card will work way better then 2000 random cards. Believe me.
* Block fake cards with this rules (thanks Smurfer):

C: your.dyn.dns port login pass no { 0:0:X, 100:3, 100:4, 100:5, 100:9, 100:c, 100:d, 100:f, 100:10, 100:11, 100:12, 100:19, 100:1c, 100:1d, 100:21, 100:25, 100:26, 100:31, 100:33, 100:34, 100:37, 100:64, 100:66, 100:67, 100:6b, 100:6d, 100:70, 100:71, 100:72, 100:73, 100:100, 100:8227, 100:beef, 100:ffff, 500:80, 500:500, 500:1570, 500:2100, 500:2500, 500:5500, 500:7000, 500:8000, 500:8c00, 500:8c10, 500:9c00, 500:a000, 500:c400, 500:c410, 500:e400, 500:10c00, 500:10c10, 500:10c20, 500:10c30, 500:11c00, 500:15000, 500:16400, 500:16800, 500:16810, 500:18c00, 500:19410, 500:1a400, 500:1ac00, 500:20a10, 500:20a20, 500:20a30, 500:20c00, 500:20c10, 500:20c20, 500:21510, 500:21570, 500:21c00, 500:22100, 500:22110, 500:50000, d00:4, d00:8, d00:14, d0c:c, d0c:10, d0c:14, d0c:18, d01:50, d01:54, d02:8c, d03:c8, d05:c, 1702:6a, 1800:4101, 1800:4901, 1800:7001, 1800:7101, 1800:7401, 1800:7501, 4a60:0, 4aa0:0 }

Make the first X a two or a one!

With a lean & mean CCcam, you should have some fast zapping. I get all my channels on my screen within 1 sec, no matter what provider :)
