Got a DM600 thinking of upgrading to an DM800HD.... - 09-August-2009, 01:38

Just installed a DM600 and very impressed with what I can unlock with only a few peers. Was thinking about getting an HD model, probably the DM800HD.

I was wondering if there is are any drawbacks from going from a DM600 to a DM800HD. Hopefully it is just as good as a DM600, except I also get HD, so therefore just as good + better.

Presumably I can still use ccam/free exchange for a DM800HD, and get plenty of HD on it? I remember seeing somewhere that there a few things that only open with NewCS, which had the new white sly cards and some HD stuff aswell.

Presumably I can keep all my current peers too.

Any advice greatly appreciated. I don't want to invest 400 in an DM800HD only to then wish for my DM600 back.

guess,
I my defence, someone offered to buy the DM600 off us for what we paid for it.... and I was very much in two minds as to whether to get HD from the outset anyway.

the only drawback i can think of is the number of clines you can have in your dm800
your server does go tits up when you have too many clines
apart from that i will more than suggest you go for it, its an amazing machine
little different because its enigma2 but once youget used to it, you'll love it

hope that helps

I'm fairly convinced.

As a rule of thumb, how many clines should you aim for on a DM600... and how many on a DM800HD?

A member on another forum reports 43 connected peers. So Why should it be so bad? It's proccessor is more powerfull than the 600? Internet connection speed, and how you run your server has a lot more to do with it, imo. Be sensible with your shares and what you receive, block fake and unwanted cards, and only have the ones you watch and use. You wont have any issues whatsoever!
