guys come on HDD help pls??? - 08-June-2007, 00:49

Guys I am sooooo new to this great stuff, I am on my own in my house trying my fricking hardest to succeed in seting up my new 7020 (2nd hand in face but new to me).
There is a 200gb hdd inside but he has left loads of **** on, how do i delete them? I have tried deleting one by one but its taking me ages, any suggetions guys?

just format the drive :)

usually there is a menu in ur box where u can format the drive.

just look for it.

alternative option is to use DCC and format it with that.

What image are you using? Have you tried aproaching the box thru IP? There you'll find a button movie/music; enter and start deleting.

ivanovh i did try that but there are about 400 small files he has done thats why doing it in a whole be alot easier and laso good practice for deleting bulk shite from it
Stopped drinking beer now and i have gone for coffee mode, looks like its going to be a long night!!! lol

If you are using a pli image, do it thru DCC!

on a gemini 3.30, so far thats all i know but give me till 3 or 4am when i am totally knackered i might know more

just format the drive like i said......formatting goes pretty fast and u dont have to do anything else.

Format the hard disk, it will take no longer than 5 minutes.
On a gemini image, if I remember well, the format option is found in the blue panel> expert setup> hard disk setup
Choose ext3 as format type.

guys thanks, i have to admit i was knackered last night that i fell asleep on the lounge floor ar 3am, the kids came downstairs this momrning and gave me a kick on their way out!!lol
Will format the hdd now i am awake.

just a quick on e whilst i am here, on a gemini image and a noob starting out what is the most appropiate emu to use?
I am on astra and will have hotbird setup later once i have set the db up.
