Help needed to re-connect DM500s - 29-August-2010, 16:58

I have used the search function but other people have wired routers so the solutions dont apply to my situation

I have a Blackbox 500s connected to my pc via crossover and sharing a usb dongle for internet, its not an ideal setup but at the moment its my only option

Anyways I first flashed it with Darkstar imag and it was running fine/had internet connections etc, and cardsharing was working, but then the internet connection stopped working, so I tried reloading the image but that didnt work, so now Iv flashed PLI jade 3 on it and I still have the same problem, I reinstalled the usb modem software aswel but no joy

I have the share internet connection tab checked in Network Connections, running windows 7 in case that is relevent.

I assigned a static ip to the dm 1 digit higher than the pc ip address and it is connectable via Dream Control Centre but the cardsharing isnt working because I have no internet connection on the box

Does anyone know what might be causing it?

I think I just need someone to help me with the addresses in communications setup

it has nothing to do with images, it's your internet connection sharing. and knowing windows, you just got to love the surprises on when it decides to work or not.

reinstall again your internet connection sharing. if this fails, reinstall the whole windows to start over again. if this still does not work, you can hunt for a router that supports usb dongle, or get a real line internet connection.

Thanks for the reply

Can I just ask, is the only place I need to enable ICS, the box in usb modem-properties-sharing tab-allow other computers to connect through this connection?

Or is there other steps involved?

Also If i got a router supporting usb dongles, would the cardsharing go smoothly? because when I did have the C/S working via crossover it was very jumpy and had high ecm times
