I have bought a couple from deal extreme. I will get them this week probably (slow shipping) and will let you know if it's ok and if it fits the box.

can you send me the link to the one you've chosen? I can't see any on the site that look right.

I got this:
DealExtreme: $8.77 SATA to 2.5" IDE Male Hard Drive Adapter Card (Horizontal)
and this:
DealExtreme: $8.99 SATA to 2.5" IDE Female Hard Drive Adapter Card

because I didn't know what kind of connector the dm600 has inside. I hope it works/fits in there, have never opened the box. The only problem with them is that it is taking too long to be shipped from China.

Sorry to break it to you but those ones simply won't fit.

The vertical type will (probably) fit but definitely not the horizontal type. There's just no room in there at all.

I've just listed my SATA HD on ebay. Looking for an IDE one now. I'm still not sure what I need... PATA/ATA/IDE.

The male adaptor you've got will connect (but won't fit). The female adaptor won't even connect.

I am guessing they won't fit because of the design but had to try since they are cheaper than the 30 one. This one seems to be quite wide too. Anyway I am not sure whether a hard disk will do any good since I am using ngrab over ethernet and IDE 2.5 disks are quite expensive now. Prefer to keep the money to invest in an HD in the future :D

I have the same problem! I opened the DM600 and found out, that it has IDE socket! IT *****!!!!

I was just wondering, if you already did move the HDD a bit "back" (To the opposite direction of the IDE connector, so you might find more space for the converter?

I'd like to refresh this thread.

Can anyone confirm that the horizontal type of adapter works and Sata HDD is recognised by the DM600 in device manager? (even if it doesn't fit)

I bought the vertical type which fits inside but doesn't work - hdd is spinnig but it isn't recognised in device manager and can't mount it in DM600.
