Moving house and new motorised dish position - 05-November-2010, 19:35

Hi all,

I am moving home in a couple of weeks..

I am still relatively new to cardsharing and have a fixed sky dish which will be staying at my current house.

When I move I would like to install a motorised dish or a dual LNB dish... however..

The position of the new house means the dish would need to be placed on the front - I live in the NE of England and am not keen on clagging a big 1m dish to get all the sats... may be a bad first impression with neighours as no one else has one that big.

There is a back garden, but I dont think it is will be long enough for a dish to see over the house..

Any one else been in this type of predicament or would you just go for the 1m dish..? In the NE I imagine a circa 60mm motorised or dual lnb dish wouldn't get me much.. or is this not the case?

Hope you guys can help.

Dreambox 500s, NAS network mount, Fixed 28.2 dish
Still a lot to learn....

Uk law states a dish upto 1m is fine. Try to choose a dark coloured dish so it doesnt stand out too much. I was in a similar position to you but, once its up, people dont even notice its there after a few weeks. There isnt much of an alternative if you want to view certain channels. Good luck
