That router is very old, I had it years ago, up until it died (not saying its a bad router).

The control panel is rubbish, the port forwarding options are rubbish. The throughput is average compared to others (but nowhere near as fast as iptables even using a usb modem).


Avoid using wireless if you can, it adds latency, which is what we don't want. The difference between 8mb and 1mb is almost nothing when you are not transferring much data, its the speed it can send it, ping levels etc.

Post Netgear DGN 2000 - 27-August-2010, 23:59

Hi guys,

I need help here as i am new to this stuff.

I have Maax 1000 receiver which I am using worked fine with O2 wirless box but then when I exchanged it with the Netgear all the channels are gone it's strange.

I am sure there are some settings that need to be done on the netgear but what are they? no idea

please help

You need to access security services on the router menu and point it to your receiver
