after disabling network, you need to restart your box (complete, not just engima)

furthermore, you can also telnet into your box and type
Quote:
ifdown eth0
ifdown eth1

restarting the box complete did not help, the command to shutdown the interface is "ifconfig eth0 down",this help but after rebooting the box the network come up again, the only way is disconnecting eth0 physical.

actually ifdown works just fine:
Code:
[email protected]:~# ifdown
BusyBox v1.01 (2008.12.26-18:41+0000) multi-call binary

Usage: ifdown <-ahinv> <ifaces...>

ifdown <options> <ifaces...>

Options:
        -h this help
        -a de/configure all interfaces automatically
-i FILE use FILE for interface definitions
-n print out what would happen, but don't do it
(note that this option doesn't disable mappings)
-v print out what would happen before doing it
        -m don't run any mappings
        -f force de/configuration
you can make it permenant as following:
1. Telnet
2. cd /var/etc/init.d
3. vi rcS
4. just put in the end of the file
Code:
ifdown eth0
5. save (:x) and reboot

cheers
