Noob - trying to install ccam for first time... - 01-August-2009, 14:30

I've just got a DM600. I'm following this beginner's guide:
http://www.eurocardsharing.com/f163/...dsharing-58078

I've just flashed my DM with the latest Gemini image and now I'm onto the step to install CCAM.

I've downloaded Ccam 2.1.2 from here (presume that it is correct)
http://www.eurocardsharing.com/f78/cccam-2-1-2-a-143327

I'm not really sure what to do with the zip file, there are 5 files in there with file types I do not recognise.

The beginners guide said to

Go to menu/plugins
Click green button
then click softcams and chose CCcam and install.
Remember to change your default cam to CCcam.

..... but there is no plugins option on the main menu. There is a plugins option when I press the blue button, but when I select it there is no command for the green button.... just 4 options (tuxbox, e-mail, teletext and another) none of them are "install cccam".

Where do I go ? What do I do?
cheers

Hi

Press OK on remote then Blue Button (to get up Blue Panel)

Settings

Addons

Download (Gemini Server)

Then

Cam (select Ccam version you want to use)

then

Cam Configs (Select CCam)

Should install CCam for you with config file.

Then you can select Ccam to autostart

You can then edit CCam from DM600 with Dreambox Control Centre.

FTP into 'etc', right click on CCam.cfg to edit

You should then be up-and-running.

Sorry - should have said, you'll have to follow the other steps in the Tutorial i.e. from 6 onwards to get everything working.

thanks,

got to the bit where you choose the ccam version... snag I hit now is that is says "hard disk too small". I don't have a hard drive installed..... can I not just install it to a PC on the network mounted to the DM ?

I havent seen this error before, but it looks like you dont have enough space on the DM for installation of Addons?

Have you installed many other Addons?

If you go to the Addons step as above, theres a 'delete' option, where it shows you what Addons have been installed and allows you to delete them. Its worth having a look to see what has been installed and then delete everything. Then restart with the install?

Hi,

I haven't installed any addons at all. Just installed the firmware for the first time so its clean. Should I definitely have enough room on a DM600 even without a hard disk?

It says
Disk space - 83k
Added - 720k
Reserve - 100k

I did accidentally record tv for about 10 seconds, but I've deleted the recording and it still says no disk space..... unless there's a recycle bin equivalent somewhere that I need to empty?

aha,

I restarted box and it now lets me install.

Stage 2 complete

thanks for your help

I would say its definitely the TV recording that's eaten up your space.

If you cant delete it and free up the space on the box, I would reinstall the Gemini image from scratch and start over.

You will have enough space in normal circumstances to install addons.
