Not receiving freeview channels(BBC,ITV etc)in the Uk - 23-December-2011, 14:38

hi i am in the UK and have just setup my dreambox 500s with c-line etc. The problem i am getting is that i am receiving all the sky uk channels and not receiving freeview channels(BBC,ITV etc).
i flashed with pli jade img first and then OpenPLi-beta-dm500 and am still getting the same problem. I know its not my dish as i was using a freesat box before i got my dreambox and got all the FTA channels. Any help is appreciated, its running on ccam 2.2.1.
Also NOW LOOKING FOR SKY UK SHARES.

Regards

Ryan

Have you not taken SKY's advice and removed your 2.4GHz telephone to at least 2 metres from your set-top-box?

Actually, the freeview channels have always appeared to me to have a weaker signal. I don't know if this is SKY's intent, but I do suspect these channels are being sent from the least powerful transponders or at an attenuated strength.

1.) "Freeview" is what the name implies - you do not need a card or sh***s to decrypt what is not encrypted.

2.) If you are not receiving the Freeview channels at all (completely black screen, "service not found", etc.), you might update your settings files or perform a manual scan.

If you receive the channels, but find these are subject to pixelation, rain-fade, or other viewing issues, there might be nothing you can do, aside from adjusting your present dish to achieve maximum SNR.

3.) I do not know if you have yourself scanned or are using a settings file. If the latter, the Freeview channels are usually found in a folder named "other" (or the equivalent in the language of those who made up the settings file).

Can you find, for example, True Movies or the other services you mentioned at all? This is really the immediate issue to sort.

Recently set up new dish at home and was missing blocks of the BBC's , channel 5, and film 4 few other missing as well. Had all premium sky movies and sports working.
It was my alignment of sat dish was off slightly and causing this block of transponders to be missing,
go to a friend or neighbours house and scan your box using their dish, then see if they are come through.
If they do and are still missing at your house then you have proved your dish is off!!
Best of luck.

if dish is correct and you have good signal could be a corrupt xml file
could try downloading a channel list from blue button menu see if that helps and only takes seconds
there are plenty ways to correct this but if your new the above method is by far the fastest
some images now class 28.2e as 28.5e and can cause problems if you uploaded a channel list
