Old DM 800HD and plenty of heat. - 03-November-2010, 12:23

What I did when I received this receiver a couple of years ago, to get rid of the heat.
Since there are no dangerous voltages inside, and no radiation.
I unscrewed the four screws that is holding the upper chassis.
Took the upper chassis off the box.
And since then I have kept the chassis open, on top.
But take care not to drop any metal inside the box.

I just raised mine off the ground using a small box - does the trick and no extra noise from a fan :)

Hm, do you have the HDD in or outside of your Dream 800? I read somewhere that it could cause problems. That's why many ppl are using an external HDD and hook it to their Dream 800.

dm800...

is fine with a hdd , without a fan... when there is enough circulation.

only thing to remember.. the 800 is NOT thought to be a server...

10-12 lines is max.. then stability starts going downhill...

for myself.... 8k-800--->> only used for viewing... :)

2yrs... oozoon/gemini... total of about 3 crashlogs... if that...

my 2cents...

I use 2 DM 800 as clients only cccam, both is with internal HDD and both is without any fan. Yes they are hot enought, but newer problems with that.

* 4.8E-9E-13E-19.2E-28.2E-36E
* Linux cccam server/oscam reader-1 local
* Linux cccam server -1 local
* 2 x DM 800 HD - cccam clients only
