I've just bought a new house and I'm trying to figure out how to do the rewiring.

I am going to have a big flat screen in the lounge and a modest sized flat screen in the kitchen. I'm not bothered about being able to change the channel in the kitchen - I just want it is a second screen replicating what is on the main lounge (so you never miss a goal).

What are the options? Presumably an HDMI splitter compromises on quality? If so, are there any dreamboxes with 2 HDMI's out? If not, what are the alternatives?

There is no Dreamboxe's with 2 hdmi output.
I use a Aten Hdmi splitter like this:
Aten 2 Port Hdmi Splitter

It is connected from my Dm8000 and to a 42" tv and a Projector.
The quality on the signal is very good,I don't see any difference when it's connected directly.

Alternative you can use the hdmi output to one of your tv,and the scart output to your other tv. Have not tested this by myself, but i think it would work.
