outgoing problems - 05-March-2010, 15:21

i am sharing my sky card from one room to the other but would like to share with a few friends.the problem im having is getting my client box to connect.i have set up no-ip account with updater installed on my pc but dont think its working properly. i have forwarded port 12000 but when i go to canyouseeme.org i get Error: I could not see your service on xx.xx.xx.xxx on port (12000)
Reason: Connection timed out
i have also logged on to nslookup DNS server handling your query: localhost
DNS server's address: xxx.0.0.x#xx

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: xxxxxxxxxxx.no-ip.org (correct)
Address: xx.xxx.xx.xxx (correct)

any ideas much appreciated

I think you have a problem with a port forwarding....Go to this site and you'll find how can you set up it corectly in your router....And when you forwarded port did you add your dreambox's ip? I thing you have must add as ip the adress of your server
but here is the link
http://www.portforward.com/

where do i include the dreambox ip ? i thought i only included ip of serverbox in ccam config if i was just sharing internally. have downloaded PFportchecker and the program tells me port 12000 is open both on tcp and udp, a bit stuck again.

a few things to check , first is ip addresses , if your sharing in your home or outside your home all your devices on your network must have an individual ip address or they will clash and not work . even if the box is in your mates house its on your network so you need to check that his box ip is different to the ips on your other devices. also his router will need to be able to see his box (so if its a dm500 go to communication setup and tick dhcp ,press green and save ) now go back in , his router ip should be in the settings and so can now see his box , untick dhcp and assign the box an indiviual ip press green and save and reboot the box.

second is mac addresses if the box is a clone it can have the same address as another box on your network and so you need to change the mac address if that is the case.
open dream control center and type in the ip of the box and click reconnect , then click on telnet and type in ifconfig and enter ,you will see the mac address it looks like 00:22:41:a1:20:15 make a note of it and do this this for all boxes including your mates if the same address is there twice it has to be changed or it will never share.

recheck your router settings and make sure they are all ok and as they should be ,if your sharing ok at home and it works there is only a few things can be wrong , double check your flines and clines in cccam.cfg and make sure there is no #symbol before any line .if the cline for example looks like this #C:your no ip address 12000 mate1 box1 it wont work the # symbol blocks a line from being active and cccam will ignore it.
