Static IP - 16-March-2011, 16:17

Just have a quick query in relation to a Static IP cccam config.
A friend of mine has a static IP address from his ISP ,i.e it never changes so he has no need for Dyndns.
If sharing around his home should he put this address in the C lines or is the address of the server Dreambox on his network (192.168.1.xx ) better ?
If he chooses the former is that more inefficient ,i.e does it route the data through the internet rather than just the local network or is there no real difference between the 2 methods ?
If he were to use the static ip address method he could interchange the boxes easily enough with family members (he isnt very tech savvy ) so it could be easier for him but is it more inefficient ?
Many thanks in advance

4 home sharing of course..he should use his..internal ip ( 192.168.*.* )range --> why would you want to send through inet..when no need?

when sharing out of..his internal ip ( 192.168.*.* )range..then of course..he must use his static ip in cline..
