Hi guys,


i wanted to ask you what would like to be the best HDD for the Dreambox 800. At most i want to play HD films on the hard disc drive and record some films

at most, that's what you will be able to do ... lol :)

actually, any sata hd will do, since SATA is pretty recent technology, most new disks are fast enough

just see what size you need

however, if you can affort, go for SSD, it will not heatup inside the box

hi,

i installed WD 2500 BEVS internal SATA drive - 250GB
very happy with it.
timeshift works great - recording ok HD also
very quiet and goes off when not in use.

I was worried about heat but really no change.
Go for it

I have seagate momentus 7200RPM 160 GB in it, vary happy.. never problem, didn't see a diferent about the heat with and without HDD. U can buy 320 GB but I think 160 is enough. Your choise...
