Transfer speeds on a 7020 - 16-June-2007, 13:30

Hi guys, Just a quick question from a newbie. What is the best method to get files off a hdd from a 7020? I have recorded some episodes for my daughter but using my laptop and wireles connection it takes ages (1gb file transferring at 0.188mb/sec)
Thanks for any info guys i really appreciate it and it is getting me off the ground for learning.

Gav

i'm afraid you'll need to do a networkfix.. you need to solder some parts in the dreambox..
i'll see if i can find the link to the site that explains it all

I am using Wireles lan and i have download speed from 1,3 MB/sec. Are u using WLan over your Network Port or USB? If you are using Network port a Network Fix will help and if you are using USB use a other driver for your stick.

Guys I have found a quicker way of transferring files from the DB to my laptop.

I recorded some of todays cricket match and and then opened up DCC ( on my PC) went to the main console of it and opted for movies on the left handside of it.
The main box then shows the movies you have recorded and then select the movie you want to transfer.
At the bottom it gives me 4 options (I opted for Green "Download") and POP UP box appeared it asks where to "save to" and i opt for desktop on my laptop.
I was getting 189-218kbps and thought it was alot faster.

Hope this helps anyone with transferring files from DB to PC.

hi ace.3, The files I transfered across showed on my desktop, I was able to play them with media player classic and also VLC.
Once DCC is open you can opt where to send the files to, I have just added an external hdd to it and send them to that and it works fine.

Hope this answers you Q.

Gavin
