Watch 1 satellite on 2 DM - 20-January-2010, 01:30

i have 2 dm500.

One dm has been installed with directly to the lnb with motor, the second dm500 gets the lnb out signal of the first dm500. So its like wire te cable to the other one. If the motor changes its direction, you dont need to change the settings in the second dm, you just change the channel to that position of the satellite.

so if im watching 19.2 with the first so is the second one, 7 degrees so is the second one. But.....my question.

IF i watch with the second one, my first dm doesnt have picture anymore. how could i solve this?

You can watch only a vertical channel on your second DM if you are switched to a vertical channel on your first receiver and vice versa. Same sat of course. In all cases, I do not recommend that simply because the DM500 tuner is quite sensitive. Simply put one of them on standby and save yourself the trouble of losing a tuner which is not plug and play.

If you have already spend the money for two boxes why not buy a twin head for your dish and a multi-switch

what's a multiswitch needed for? all he needs is a dual-out lnb, and run two cables to the dm500s. of course he can only watch single satellites that way.

if he wants to watch independently, then he needs to invest more on his hardware.
